FAQ - IDD Design and Test Capabilities

How does IDD measure switch actuation performance?
IDD has designed and implemented two automated switch testers (AST) which measure the performance of our switches. These testing stations are programmed to automatically test the pre-travel and actuation force of our switches, ensuring that the customer SCD requirements are consistently met.

How does IDD measure light?
IDD utilizes various instruments to measure the color and intensity of light. During production we use video photometers to scan the parts during the painting processes. Finished products are measured using a spectoradiometer which is also used to measure NVIS radiance for military products.

What type of environmental testing does IDD perform?
Internally, IDD has the capability of running many temperature, fluid and humidity tests. In addition, IDD uses a variety of external laboratories in Washington and California for qualification testing to DO-160 and MIL-810 standards.
