IDD Aerospace Wins Major Design and Production Contracts for Boeing 787 Cockpit

Redmond, WA (May 4, 2007) - IDD AEROSPACE, a division of the Zodiac Group, announced today that it has signed a 16-year contracts with Honeywell and Rockwell-Collins to design, develop and produce the Integrated Switching Panels and Cursor Control Devices for the new Boeing 787 aircraft.

The Integrated Switching Panel (ISP) designed for Honeywell is the human-machine-interface portion of the aircraft Mode Control Panel (MCP); part of Honeywell’s flight control system for the Boeing 787 aircraft. The panel uses IDD’s new proprietary Flex™ pushbuttons which were selected for their low-profile and reliability. IDD is a supplier for the MCP for the Boeing 737 aircraft.

The human-to-machine interface device custom designed for Rockwell-Collins allows the pilot and co-pilot to control the cursor and select items on any one of five Rockwell Collins multifunctional displays (MFPs) . Since the contract was signed, IDD has provided preliminary designs for the device which include a capacitive low-profile touch membrane in an ergonomic enclosure. IDD developed a similar device for the Boeing 777.
